Minneapolis St. Paul Airport Roadway Fixtures

When driving through the MSP airport, the roadway is lined by lovely decorative poles and matching Sterner roadway fixtures. These fixtures were housed by 750 Watt Metal Halide. HiLumz built a custom kit with 480VAC input, 20kV surge protection, and T4 roadway optics at 3000k.

The facilities team loved the ease of install, reduced energy consumption by over 50%, increased light performance, and solved a long term maintenance issue.

The MSP team evaluated replacing the fixtures with new. The HiLumz LED system saved over $1.0mm in installation costs and accelerated the transition to long-term LED.

DOT Tunnel Retrofit - ~3500 fixtures

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) manages a highly visible tunnel with over three thousand GE TunnelGuard fixtures. The ADOT had to close the tunnel four times per year to replace light bulbs and ballasts. HiLumz worked closely with the ADOT team to develop an LED kit that ultimately would install in less than 4 minutes per fixture!  Allowing rapid deployment of a system that reduced energy consumption by over 60% , greatly improved lighting, and allowed for the stability of a longer life LED light source.

HiLumz specified it's trusty DM light engine, with 20kV external surge protection and an failure indicator light, and a solid state driver with twice the life of a standard LED driver.

O'Hare Airport Plane Terminal Lights - 900+ fixtures

The O'Hare maintenance team had a challenge - maintaining existing 1000 Watt metal halide lamps and ballasts led to quality and unreliable lighting. After attempting to use high output corn lamps, light levels fell below required levels and failures continued. Enter HiLumz.

HiLumz designed a highly serviceable system with 480VAC drivers, 20kV surge protection, and a 1-person fast installation system with y-clips and hand screws. The O'Hare team loved it and the results were fantastic.

Massive reduction in maintenance, energy, and improved light levels.

Nationwide Building up/down wall sconces - 500+ units

The ESCO got consistent service calls for lights out on the two-pin standard KIM traditional light fixture. LED 2-pin lamps had failure and light output issues. Enter HiLumz.

HiLumz designed a simple bracket system with both one-way and two-way directional lights. The ESCO found the solution to be perfect and rolled it out as its standard for this fixture. The light engine is underpowered and easy to install. Over 70k hour life.

Result is very low failures. 

Breckenridge CO Post Top Units - 500+ units

The city of Breckenridge wanted a warm 2700k post top conversion kit that also served to provide protection for their dark sky compliance requirements.

​

HiLumz, using its DC Barrel Mini with a T3 optic, developed a modified kit so that all uplight would be protected. After seeing the HiLumz solution, the city converted all remaining high pressure sodium lamps. In addition the city converted all the corn cobs they had attempted to use because the HiLumz system had better aesthetics, consistent light, and better life.

Since this project, HiLumz has done several other jobs for the City of Breckenridge.

Up Down Chandelier LED Retrofit

A large facility used HiLumz to upgrade its decorative up and down light pendants to LED. The project included wireless control solutions to manage uplight and downlight output and dimming on separate channels.
